Being a bodybuilder is a dream for many people that are into fitness. Bodybuilding is not an easy process, and it can take several months to see a drastic change in one's body. Working out is a big component of being a bodybuilder. A person must exercise consistently to produce the desired results. Not only is working out an important part of being a bodybuilder, proper nutrition is also a key player. A person must make sure that he or she is getting the proper vitamins in also to get the best results with his or her fitness program.

It is best that a person eat healthfully and include a variety of foods in the diet in order to obtain the vitamins needed for bodybuilding. However, vitamins may be taken in the form of a supplement. The top ten vitamins needed for bodybuilders are: Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B1, Vitamin D, Vitamin B3, Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Vitamin B2, Biotin, and Vitamin B12. Vitamin C is found in citrus fruits and enhances muscle growth and recovery. Vitamin B6 helps with protein uptake and is found in avocados, nuts, and fish. Vitamin B6 is required for protein growth and metabolism and is found in cereals and breads. Vitamin D is required for calcium asportion and is found in milk and almost all other dairy products.

Vitamin B3 is needed for energy production and found in turkey fish and poultry. Vitamin E is needed for the recuperation of the muscle cells and found in leafy vegetables. Vitamin A is involved in the production of glycogen which is a major form of energy during exercise and can be found in carrots. Vitamin B2 is needed for protein metabolism and is found in liver, milk, and shellfish. Biotin is needed for amino acid metabolism and is found in egg yolk and milk. Vitamin B 12 is needed for the contraction and coordination of the muscles and is found in beef, chicken and pork.
